WELCOME TO THE BIG ENVELOPE

The Big Envelope was created to help students and their families
not only navigate, but take command of the increasingly-
complicated, highly-competitive college admissions process, 
by providing consultation and educational support.

Started by a passionate mother just through the process, and 
her sister with 13 years of high school teaching and college 
counseling experience. 

We have a small army of experienced, certified teachers, and 
advisors in the professional community from schools like Harvard,
Dartmouth, Northwestern, Brown, Princeton and Cornell.  And, we 
are all fully committed to doing everything we can to help you 
get the one thing you really want.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

One of the most important things about our teachers is that 
they really are teachers. Not tutors. Not helpful people who 
are "smart in math, or English". Our teachers are certified 
teachers with degrees in their subject areas—professionals 
who have spent their careers understanding learning styles
and the best practices for yielding the most effective one-
on-one results. Helping students succeed is their profession.

Teachers understand road blocks and obstacles to learning. 
Teachers know the latest trends in education and how to get 
the most out of a student. Teachers embrace learning not just 
for test preparation, but for life long success. Our teachers 
instruct at the most advanced levels of honors and AP classes. 
And most importantly, our teachers care deeply about their 
students and their achievements. 



Our teachers are trained to help with diagnostic testing and 
evaluation, sessions in all subject areas including AP, sessions 
in areas of Special Education and ELL. Preparation for the ACT 
by subject (Writing, Critical Reading,Science,Math, and Essay), 
the SAT by subject (Writing, Critical Reading, Essay, and Math), 
the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT Subject Tests.

COLLEGE CONSULTING

There are 4,352 colleges, universities, and junior colleges 
in the United States alone.

We believe finding the right one begins with an in-depth, in-person 
consultation with the family. We listen. We learn. 
Then we work through the numbers, the interests, the passions, 
and the probabilities to evaluate and determine 
reach, target, and safety schools.

More and more, getting the big envelope requires 
creating an application that goes well-beyond grades, test scores, 
and extracurriculars. Today, a student needs a personal stamp 
that identifies, distinguishes, and competitively differentiates 
them from the competition. We help create exactly that.

In fact, we can help with every aspect of the process from scheduling campus visits and sitting in on a lecture or class to 
working on organizational strategies, calendars, and checklists to keep the process running smoothly and according to plan.

“Big Envelopes for Everyone” is how we articulate that belief.
Our entire team of teachers, a Ph.D therapist and advisors are 
dedicated to helping underprivileged and homeless high school 
students. We offer guidance, counseling, encouragement and 
support--including help with standardized tests,obtaining grants, 
scholarships and financial aid. Last year we helped several homeless 
students win scholarships and gain admission to prestigious colleges 
and universities, including Georgetown.
